3rdfloor Project Missionwe are a quarterly print magazine (501(c)3 nonprofit status pending) comprised entirely of submissions from the public. bent on revolutionizing arts magazines, we support the independent, self-taught and part-time artist’s right to create. we democratize art by supporting an accessible forum for viewing and publishing creative works, and through the encouragement of artistic dialogue both within its pages and on our discussion board. 3rdfloor’s pages are chock-full of resources and art for the culture-creator, not the culture-consumer. above all we want the general public, which especially includes people of color, queers of all genders, women (past, present, and future), people of size, people working in the sex industry (past, present, and future), people with disabilities, poor and working class people, people that are anti-oppression, anti-racist, feminist, and class-conscious to have a forum for creative expression. we are a reliable and readily available outlet for people to empower themselves and motivate themselves to create, because you literally shape the contents of the magazine. the inherently problematic categories of outsider art and insider art break down when everyday folks have access to the tools of creation. basically, we think it's not enough to be challenging ourselves to make quality art and to be actively creating our own cultures if there's no forum for it. we thought you might agree. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing a space for radical artistic dialogue. Your contribution goes directly towards printing the magazine and making it cheaply available.
